The party leaders were busy in the Halifax area trying to win votes.
NDP leader Gary Burrill said he’s glad the P-C’s and Liberals are paying attention to female representation but pointed out the NDP is the only party running an equal slate of men and women.
Stephen McNeil admitted only 12 of his 51 candidates are women…but that the Liberals are fair to women and tried to get them elected in what he called meaningful ridings.
Tory Leader Jamie Baillie, whose party is running 17 females, took offence at that and demanded McNeil apologize for dismissive comments about women.
