The town library in Annapolis Royal is tiny, but very busy.
It only has about 1,000 square feet to hold the books but 2,000 people regularly go there to borrow books, about 40,000 last year.
So the Friends of the Annapolis Valley Library have been raising money for years to relocate to a larger space in Annapolis Royal Regional Academy. Its president Lina Moffat told the Chronicle Herald this coming Saturday will be Academy Library Day in Annapolis Royal to try to get more pledges and they expect to hear from Annapolis County that it is pledging $40,000.
