Windsor has passed bylaw that will allow laying hens and beehives within the town limits.
People will be allowed to have up to four laying hens (but no roosters) and a beehive on their property, if they follow certain restrictions and requirements.
For beekeepers, they’ll need 5,000 square feet of lot space to put in a hive.
Other Nova Scotia areas have such laws on the books, including Wolfville; Bridgewater, and Truro.
