Attempt to Tow Grounded Vessel in Cape Breton Aborted due to High Winds

A second attempt to tow a grounded tanker off the Coast of Cape Breton was called off last night. The coast guard and McKeil Marine, the company hired to help move the vessel, had planned to tow the tanker on Saturday night but high winds forced officials to cancel the operation. The Mexican owned Arca One ran a ground of Little Pond last Sunday after suffering engine failure. Both the Coast Guard and McKeil Marine are expected to plan another attempt during the next favourable weather window that coincides with high tides. Once free, the Arca One will be towed to Sydney Harbour for repairs.
