Northside 4 Chase the Ace found

A New Waterford man found the Ace yesterday, or rather a proxy did; at the Northside 4 Chase the Ace.

Adam MacKay was not at the Emera Centre after his number was drawn, so one of the committee members turn over one of the eight cards left and it was the ace of spades.  MacKay won $1,674,843.

The profits from this chase the ace are going to the Emera Centre, the Haley Street Adult Services Centre Society; the Northern Yacht Club Junior Sailing Club, and the Seaview Junior Golfers.

CBU talks

No strike at Cape Breton University today.  The two sides say they made significant progress in negotiations last week so there won’t be a strike today.  They still worked on details over the weekend.

A previous tentative contract was rejected by the Board of Governors which also fired president David Wheeler for the way he negotiated it.
