The Liberal Party of Canada will hold its biennial convention at Halifa’x new Convention Centre next year. The stll under construction Nova Centre will host the convention from April 19-22nd of 2018. The centre announced the news Friday, saying it will generate an estimated 3-million-dollars in spending and attract thousands of people to the cities downtown. The event will mark the first time the Federal Liberals have held their national convention in Halifax.

Glace Bay Native to Lead Victoria RCMP
Victoria District RCMP are announcing Staff Sergeant Darren Waidson as the new RCMP District Commander for Victoria County (Baddeck, Ingonish Beach and Wagmatcook First Nation’s policing jurisdictions). S/Sgt. Waidson joined the RCMP in 1990 from Cape Breton and he has worked in many roles during his 27-year career in the RCMP.
