Woman Charged for Allegedly Assaulting Toddler at NS Daycare

One woman is facing charges after a three-year-old child was allegedly abused at an unlicensed daycare in Enfield, NS. RCMP say the 55-year-old woman was arrested after receiving a complaint on January 31st. The toddler reportedly suffered bruising as a result of the alleged assault. Police say a woman arrested on Friday was an employee of the daycare facility. She’s since been released on conditions and is expected to appear in court next month.

Loblaw (Superstore an No Frills) Issues Baby Food Recall

The parent company of Superstore grocery stores has issued a recall of baby food due to the threat of possible food poisoning. Loblaw, whic also owns the Loblaws and No Frills grocery chains, has recalled it’s President Choice Organics brand Green Pea, Apple and Blueberry strained baby food. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency classified the 128 millilitre packets of the baby food with the expiration date of October 31st, 2017 as high risk. The Agency says the baby food may contain bacteria known to produce botulism – which can lead to serious illness and paralysis.
