The faculty at Cape Breton University continues to vote today on a tentative contract.
They began voting yesterday on the deal worked out after threats of a strike. The Association represents 152 professors, librarians, archivists, lab instructors, nursing practice educators and research chairs.
The Nova Scotia SPCA has seen many more animal cruelty charges in the last couple of years. 2015 and 2016 saw numbers jump quite a bit, with criminal code charges also happening when necessary. There are also now 16 animal cruelty officers, where they’ve had as few as three in recent years.
