A 31-year-old man died after falling from the roof of home in South Rawdon on Friday morning. RCMP say the man was shoveling snow from the roof of a home that was under construction on Ashdale Road when he fell shortly before 9am. Paramedics and firefighters from Brooklyn responded to the scene. The man was taken to the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor but was pronounced dead on arrival. The accident is currently under investigation by the provincial Labour Department and the RCMP.

Powerful Street Drug Seized in Nova Scotia
A powerful new drug has shown up for only the second time in Nova Scotia. The hallucinogenic DMT was seized during a search of home in New Glasgow on Thursday. The drug, which induces an extreme but short hallucinogenic effect on users, originates from plant derivitives in South America and parts of Asia. Experts warn it can have long lasting physical and pyschological effects, especially on users with a pre-existing mental illness. The drug, which usually sells in beige coloured powder form, showed up once before in New Glasgow in 2015. A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman from New Glasgow have been charged as a result of Thursday’s search.
