No one was hurt when a car went up in flames Saturday night in New Waterford.
The car was parked near the French club and there was speculation initially it had been deliberately torched. But Captain Gerald Coady says that is false: it was electrical, something in the dash.
A 24 year old woman is facing an impaired driving charge after crashing her car into a business in Florence.
Police arrived and found the car lodged in the wall of the building on Main Street then they found the woman a short time later with minor injuries. She’ll be in court at a later date.
There was extensive damage to the building.
