Man buried in snow in Cape Breton

Police continue to investigate the discovery of a man’s body buried under the snow beside his truck, but don’t suspect foiul play.

They found the 66 year old man’s body Sunday afternoon not long after beginning a search for him after family reported him missing in the Huntington area of CBRM.  The body was sent to Halifax for an autopsy.

Mayor Cecil Clarke says there’s still a chance there will be a heavy garbage pickup in the spring. His comments came after council passed a bidget which did not include the $250,000 or so extra cost of picking up heavy items like furniture and appliances. That’s because of the heavy pickup in the fall after the Thanksgiving flood.

Clarke told the Cape Breton Post the municipality is looking for public feedback on the issue and there’s still a possibility it could come back to council for reconsideration.
