NS wait time concerns

Nova Scotia’s auditor general Michael Pickup says the province’s largest health authority has only implemented two of seven recommendations made in 2014 to improve reporting on wait times for knee and hip surgeries.

In Nova Scotia about 90 per cent of patients got their hip or knee replacements within 750 to 800 days, well short of a national goal of 182 days.

The City of Vancouver is launching another legal challenge to try to stop the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

Council members have voted to hold a judicial review of the province’s environmental assessment of the project  Last summer, the council also launched a legal challenge of the National Energy Board’s approval.

The pipeline expansion will mean tanker traffic in Burrard Inlet will increase by seven times.
