Drug search in Waycobah

The Street Crime Enforcement Unit of Inverness District RCMP searched a home in Waycobah on February 16, following an investigation. This resulted in the seizure of quantities of marihuana products and oxycodone pills.

Brett Waters and Patricia Bernard, of Waycobah First Nation, were arrested following the search. They were released later that day and have both been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. They are scheduled to attend Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on March 27.

Teachers aftermath

The NSTU says it’ll be up to individual teachers to decide what extra volunteer work they do at schools.  Opposition parties also say the McNeil government will pay a political and legal price for imposing a contract, because teachers will challenge the legislation in court.
