A search is underway for a missing kayaker.
32 year old Jason William MacGrath left the Cape George area around noon last Sunday. The kayak was found last night on the Western shore of Inverness County near Gillis Pond in Judique Interval.
RCMP along with a ground search and rescue team are searching now with the help of a K-9 unit and helicopter.
The Sydney Mines Tourism Development Society wants your help in an online contest to raise money and awareness about Chapel Point Battery.
They have entered the site under the name Guardian of the Gulf in the National Trust for Canada online competition called This Place Matters. This is one of 16 projects across the country vying for a $60,000 prize. A Truro project is way out in front but Sydney Mines is hoping for the $30,000 regional prize.
