Jail time for a Sydney man

A Sydney businessman found not guilty of hiring someone to kill his ex-wife is going to jail on other charges.

53 year old Roderick Domoslai was sentenced yesterday two two years for counseling to commit arson and counseling to commit perjury.

The judge ordered Domoslai to serve 18 months for getting a woman to give false evidence on a court order that he stay away from his ex-wife.  Justice Gregory Warner said there was a need for deterrence because perjury strikes at the very root of the justice system.  The judge also gave Domoslai another six months for counselling an acquaintance to burn a vehicle.

Membertou stabbing case

A 26 year old Sydney man has ben sentenced to two years in a federal pen for a stabbing in 29015.

Tyrone Wesley Bowles pleaded guilty to aggravated assault earlier.  He stabbed the victim at a house party in Membertou when the victim asked him to leave and locked him out.  He broke back in and stabbed the man.
