CBRM says a former school in Westmount will be torn down as soon as possible.
MacLennan School was closed last year and boarded up but area residents say kids have been getting in. There have been lots of fires and vandalism including vulgar graffitti. The building is owned by CBRM and it is working to get demolition underway as early as next month.
A 34 year old New Waterford man has been sentenced to over 52 months in a federal pen for an armed robbery and assault.
Michael Daniel Campbell held up the French Club in New Waterford last October and is also guilty of two assaults.
A woman, charged with him in the armed robbery is due in court this week for a preliminary hearing.
