There was a job fair yesterday for people who want to work in the newly reopened Donkin Mine.
About 200 men and women showed up at the Holiday Inn looking for one of the jobs. Production is expected to begin in March with a workforce of 64 people.

Ribfest parking restrictions
Thousands of people are expected to turn out for Ribfest this weekend and police are warning about parking restrictions.
They will be in effect near Open Hearth Park, to help alleviate traffic congestion and ensure safety.
Beginning at 11:00 this morning and running till 7:00 Sunday evening there’ll be no street-side parking on Ferry Street or Stable Drive. Parking is available at Open Hearth Park as well as a designated drop-off and pick-up zone. Accessible parking is available near the Park entrance on Ferry Street for cars showing a valid Accessible Parking Permit.
