A Sydney Mines woman has been charged in Friday’s death of a woman hit by a vehicle. The 28-year-old was hit on Oxford Avenue, and died in hospital. The vehicle fled the scene, and 36-year-old Kimberly Ann O’Dea is up on second-degree murder and criminal negligence causing death. Police say she knew the victim, and is due in court today.

Road work starting today is expected to cause traffic disruptions on George Street in Sydney. It’s between Townsend and Brookland streets, and will result in some lane closures over the next two weeks.
