RCAF training exercise in Margaree Valley, Louisbourg

Royal Canadian Air Force members from 14 Wing Greenwood will be conducting a search and rescue exercise in Cape Breton May 1 to 5

The exercise will involve personnel and equipment from 413 Squadron, the Canadian Coast Guard, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Civil Air Search and Rescue and will be primarily based out of the Sydney airport. Training will be concentrated in the Margaree Valley area and southeast of Louisburg daily, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and will result in increased air traffic in the area for the duration of the exercise.

Depave Paradise project

The Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation’s Depave Paradise project is set for May 5th at 11am.  This is the first event of it’s kind in Atlantic Canada.  The group will be liberating the soil from under 100 square meters of asphalt and replacing it with gardens and green space.  The location is the old Baptist Church site at 307 King Street.
