Securities Commission warns about Magnum Options

The Nova Scotia Securities Commission is cautioning about Magnum Options, which is offering binary options via an online trading platform. It also appears to go by the name of Hampshire Capital Ventures, but isn’t registered to sell securities in the province. At least one Nova Scotian created an account on the company’s website using a credit card, and subsequently lost money.

Province, teachers to resume talks with conciliation

The province has asked for conciliation in its dispute with teachers.  The NSTU has rejected two tentative agreements, and could strike as soon as December 3rd.  The union was denied a mediator by the province earlier this month, but members have agreed to resume talks in light of the conciliation request.
