Nova Scotia woman facing deportation to UK allowed to stay
The lawyer for a 33-year-old mother of four who was facing deportation to Britain says his client will be allowed to stay in Canada.
The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund says Immigration Minister John McCallum intervened in the case of Fliss Cramman.
The Nova Scotia woman came to Canada from Britain with her family when she was eight and only found out she is not a Canadian citizen after she was convicted of a drug trafficking charge in 2014.
She was to be deported to Britain as early as December 16th.
