Sydney clinic delay

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says the Collaborative Care Clinic promised for Sydney won’t be open until the New Year, if things go well.

The clinic was supposed to be open by last month but that was delayed when the province announced other such clinics would be opening across the province and the Health Authority wanted to standardize things.  Now it says it hopes to be doing hiring interviews with doctors and nurse practioners in January.

Sydney mines incident

Police are looking for a suspicious person after an incident in Sydney Mines yesterday.

A 12 year old girl reported she was approached by a male driver around 11:00 o’clock who followed her in his car and then on foot on Crescent Street until she met with a family member.

He got back in his SUV and left.

The man is in his mid-to-late twenties, dark skin; a thick beard, and a heavy accent.

His vehicle is a blue, newer model SUV.
