Yesterday Cape Breton Regional Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Demarco Street in Sydney Mines. As a result of the search, a 48 year old man and 49 year old woman were arrested and taken into custody.
They were both released on a Promise to appear later. They will appear in Sydney Provincial Court on drug charges February 6th, 2017.
Police seized approximately 3 and ½ pounds of marijuana, large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.
A 73 year old Sydney man has pleaded guilty to several sex offences involving children.
The man can’t be named to protect the identity of the victims, according to the Cape Breton Post. He pleaded guilty yesterday to seven counts of sexual touching, four of sexual assault, three of sexual interference and one of possession of child porn. The offences occurred in Sydney between 1993 and 2014 and inlved five girls and two boys, most of them under 14 at the time.
He’ll be sentenced January 11th.
