Three inmates are now facing more charges after an incident at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre in Gardiner Mines earlier this month.
Morgan James MacNeil of Glace Bay, Norman Brandon Fong of Sydney and John Charles Ford of Sydney Mines are facing several charges including assaulting guards, hostage taking, and participating in a riot.
The Justice department says there were no injuries in the incident June 6th and damage was minor. They’ll be in court July 10th.
The Walk of Hope is set to go this evening to remember the three teens who have died from suicides this year.
The Salvation Army Community Church is hosting the walk which will begin behind Centre 200 at 8:00pm, and will end at the Salvation Army on Inglis Street. Organizers say the walk is to remember the teens and send the message there are people to turn to if you are struggling.
The three youths who are being honoured are Madison Wilson, Vincent Nugent and Justin Newell who were all 13.
