A blustery blow “down east!”

It caused travel disruptions at the airport and on the highways.

Police shut down the Canso Causeway and parts of Highway 104 because of blackouts, but no serious collisions were reported.

Power was knocked out to thousands, as Nova Scotia Power crews went to work.

“Dumping Day” delay in Nova Scotia

“Dumping Day” has been delayed for the winter lobster season around the southswest coast from Halifax to Digby.

Blustery conditions prompted fishermen in Districts 33 and 34 to delay the start of the lucrative fishery till tomorrow, for safety reasons.

The DFO made the decision yesterday after a conference call with fishing groups.
