Sydney assault

A Sydney man has been sentenced to time served on charges of assault and breaching court orders, but he’s not done with the courts yet.

32 year old Jeffrey Allan Deveaux of Connaught Street, was credited with time served in custody on remand, 109.5 days in connection with an incident involving a woman.  He’s been ordered to have no contact with her.  Deveaux will also have to return to court in April on other charges of assault and breaching a court order.

CBU talks

The CBU Faculty Association has called on the university administration to ratify a tentative contract agreement, according to the Local Xpress.

Union vice president Calvin Howley said it is asking the Board of Governors to ratify the agreement reached recently because it;’s in the best interests of the university.  He said the union statement is not tied to the suspension last week of CBU President David Wheeler by the Board of Governors, or a labour board ruling which found CBU engaged in unfair labour practises when it came to voluntary retirement packages.
