Symposium on Inclusive Education and Employment in Halifax

The Disabled Persons Commission, Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, and Collaborative Partnership Network partnered to host the ninth annual Symposium on Inclusive Education and Employment today in Halifax. This year’s theme is Ability Starts Here – Taking a Fresh Perspective. This year’s Lieutenant Governor’s Persons with Disabilities Employer Partnership Award went to Sobeys in Cole Harbour.

NS deputy-level assignment changes

Stephen McNeil has announced changes to deputy-level assignments.  Denise Perret is coming from Alberta to become deputy minister of Health and Wellness.  Frank Dunn moves from Natural Resources to Agriculture and Fisheries/Aquaculture, while Allan Eddy becomes associate deputy minister for both departments.  Julie Towers is promoted to deputy minister of Natural Resources. Justin Huston becomes CEO of the Office of Aboriginal Affairs, and Tracey Taweel adds CEO of the Office of Immigration to her titles.
