Conditions for a North Sydney man

A North Sydney man is due for statuatory release soon and the National Parole Board is imposing special conditions on 24 year old Jeffrey Daniel MacIntyre, according to the Cape Breton Post.

The board says police have expressed concerns that he is a high risk to reoffend, so he’ll have to live at a community correctional centre or community residential facility until his full sentence is served.  He was given almost two and a half years last year for sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl; and is due for statuatory release soon.

The Glace Bay Hospital needs your help

The Glace Bay Hospital Charitable Foundation is looking for donations, not money; but time.

Chair Cathy Power says the foundation’s membership has shrunk from around 100 at one time to 20 now.  So they are looking for new members.

Power told the Cape Breton Post membership dues are just $20 a year, but what they really need is time from people to help raise money for the foundation to buy equipment for the hospital.  She says they will be holding a meet and greet at the Glace Bay fire station on Friday December 16th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm to answer the questions of anyone who is interested.
