A Sydney man has pleaded guilty to possession of marijuanna for the urpose of trafficking.

48 year old David Stephen Braithwaite of Laurier Street, will return to court January 23rd for sentencing.  He was charged in connection with offences between June and November last year in Sydney.  A second charge of traffcking marijuanna was withdrawn.

In addition, a Sydney man remains in custody on armed robbery charges in connection with a convenience store holdup last month.

28 year old James Anthony MacDonald of Whitney Avenue, was in court briefly yesterday and will return January 9th to enter pleas on the charges.

 

The Emergency Management Organization is meeting with flood victims today through Saturday to tell them what kind of assistance they will be getting from the government.

The Cape Breton Post reports EMO officials will meet with each homeowner one on one to go over the damage assessments, the appraisal of houses and costs associated with the flood damage.
