Former teacher Amy Hood has been sentenced in New Glasgow court to 15 months house arrest on four sex-related charges involving two former students.
The 40-year-old Hood had faced a mandatory minimum sentence of one year but Judge Del Atwood said that would be grossly disproportionate in this case. Atwood said there was physical sexual contact with only one of the boys.
The Crown lawyer wanted federal prison time and expressed disappointment at the decision.
