Tussle over health care funding

Federal and provincial finance ministers sat down for a working dinner last night, and most of the talk was about the federal healthcare funding.

Bill Morneau has said Ottawa is adamant is cutting the increase in transfer payments to 3$ from 6% each year.

The provinces and territories say they need more.

They’ll talk about it again today with the health ministers joining in this afternoon.

The province see Morneau’s statements as an ultimatum, “a take it or leave it” situation when no negotiations have been held.
