14-Year-Old Charged with Sexually Assaulting Senior in Annapolis Valley

A 14-year-old boy has been charged following the alleged sexual assault of a senior on a public trail in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. R-C-M-P Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the woman was alone on the trail in East Kingston at about two yesterday afternoon when a youth approached her as he was masturbating. She says the teen pushed her down and sexually assaulted her, but she managed to get away. The 14-year-old boy faces sexual assault and assault, and is due back in youth court January 26th.

Tourism Up in Cape Breton

2016’s Cape Breton tourist season went up from last year.  Tourism Nova Scotia has October visits up 24%, with 15% for the overall season.  The province as a whole is up 4% year to date.  May had the biggest jump for Cape Breton at 25%.
