Canadian among victims of terrorist attack in Turkey

A Canadian man was among those killed in a terrorist attack in Turkey New year’s Eve. No name or city has been released yet. Most of the 39 dead were foreign nationals…70 others were wounded in the attack on a crowded nightclub in Istanbul.

The attacker managed to escape. The Islamic State is claiming responsibility.

The U-S is denying Turkish media reports that Washington knew of the attack beforehand, saying it had just issued a general holiday season threat warning before Christmas in Turkey.

Russians sent home

35 Russian diplomats, along with their families, are headed home to Moscow.

They left the U-S yesterday on orders from President Barack Obama who said they were spying. He has also ordered new sanctions against Russia for hacking of Democrat political sites during the U-S election.

Russia has said it won’t retaliate since the new administration of Donald Trump will be sworn-in later this month.
