Another NS boat will be on a Canadian coin

Another fishing boat, besides the Bluenose II; will be gracing the face of a Canadian coin, and it too is from Nova Scotia.

A Cape Islander, believed to have originated in Clarks Harbour in the early 1900s; will be featured on the tail side of a commemorative Loonie to be released for Canada’s 150th birthday.

It also features trains and buildings in the background.

Health transfer payments

Health and finance ministers from the other provinces and territories are still fighting Ottawa’s offer on health transfer funding.

Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador have struck individual deals with the Trudeau Government but the rest say it’s still not enough.

The premiers have written a letter to the Prime Minister repeating their calls for a resumption of negotiations.
