Fundy Rose headed to the drydock

The Digby ferry is out of service for about a month. The last sailing for the Fundy Rose was 8:00am this morning. It’s going into drydock for the usual regulatory inspections and any technical maintenance. They expect the Fundy Rose to be back in service around February 17th.

Climate change on the St. John River

An environmental group has identified key climate change hazards for communities along the St. John River including more power outages, groundwater contamination and telecommuniations disruptions.

WWF-Canada says we’re already seeing more extreme flooding events, blizzards and ice due to climate change. It has set up a website where people can take a closer look at projected climate change impacts. It includes suggestions on how Woodstock, Hartland and Florenceville-Bristol can adapt.
