Tens of thousands still without power

Tens of thousands of NB Power customers still don’t have electricity after Wednesday’s ice storm.

The utility has over 270 crews working all out to replace broken poles and string lines back up that were torn down by the thick coating of ice. But it will be days before they get to everybody.

Warming centres have been set up. You can check locations and times they’re open on the government and E-M-O websites. Besides warming up you can also charge cellphones.

One in custody and one sought in murder investigation

A Moncton woman has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s homicide…and a warrant has been issued for another suspect.

RCMP say 47 year old Robert Perry died in hospital after being found stabbed in a car in a motel parking lot on Elmwood Avenue.

45 year old Kimberly Cormier was in court yesterday on a charge of second degree murder. She has been remanded in custody until March 16.

Also facing a second degree murder charge is 25 year old Jesse James Perry-Belliveau who is the subject of a Canada-wide warrant.
