More calls for universal pharmacare

A report in the Canadian Medical Association Journal says Ottawa could address some of the existing gaps in the health-care system by providing universal access to 117 prescription drugs.

The report says one in 10 Canadians are not filling their prescriptions because they can’t afford them…for things such as diabetes, high blood pressure, antidepressants, pain killers. The report says a universal pharmacare system would save billions of dollars a year by preventing hospitalizations.

School trips cancelled

There are a lot of disappointed students in Canadian schools….their field trips to the U-S have been suspended because of Donald Trump.

President Trump’s travel ban against people from seven Muslim Countries is stuck in the courts…but schools are concerned about how foreign-born Canadian students will be treated at the border and possibly banned so they could be left behind.
