President Trump is ordering a study of America’s major trading partners to find out which ones are using abusive trade practices to run export surpluses, through anti-competitive trade practices.
The ultimate goal is to quantify exactly how much of the U-S trade deficit is due to supposedly unfair practices, and seek remedies for the imbalance. Canada has the smallest surplus of any country.
