Government encouraging electric cars

NB Power is partnering with Ottawa to install ten fast-charging stations for electric cars along the Trans-Canada Highway in the province.

Fisheries and Oceans Minister Dominic Leblanc announced the program saying it’ll help address range anxiety by electric car owners. Leblanc says the government hopes, by spending $335,000 to install the stations, it’ll encourage more people to buy electrics. NB power estimates there are only about a hundred of them in the province now.

Free abortion pills

The Gallant Government is introducing a program that will provide free, universal access to the drug known as the abortion pill.

Health Minister Victor Boudreau says making it available free for all women means financial barriers will not stand in the way of a woman’s right to choose. The drug is approved for the medical termination of a pregnancy up to 49 days and it must be prescribed by a physician.
