Drug arrests in connection with fentanyl O-Ds

RCMP have arrested two men at Esgenoopetitj after a pill containing fentanyl was found on the First Nation.

A 35 year old man remains in custody for now on drug charges and breaching probation. A 60 year old man has been released pending a court date later.

Several residents have been hospitalized in recent weeks because of suspected fentanyl overdoses…and one woman died.

Potato chip recall

Miss Vickie’s is recalling its jalapeno-flavoured, kettle-cooked potato chips.

That’s because of a recent recall by a supplier of the seasonings used in the chips because of possible salmonella contaimination.

So far, only the jalapeno-flavoured Miss Vickie’s kettle cooked potato chips with Guaranteed Fresh dates of June 20 or earlier are affected. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting an investigation which may lead to a recall of other products.
