Federal Health Minister Jane Philpott wants all provinces, not just BC and Alberta, to provide statistics on opioid overdose deaths, calling it a public health crisis.
Philpott says the deadly effects of fentanyl and the even more potent carfentanil have spread right across the country. She says it’s tough dealing with complex issues when they don’t have the data on overdoses and death rates from them.
