More rain for swollen rivers

EMO is warning residents along the St. John River to be on the alert for flooding with the heavy rains expected this weekend. There are rainfall warnings in effect.

The river is at or above flood stage in many areas already. The rain will start tonight and there could be 100mm in some parts of southwestern New Brunswick by Sunday…then more rain Monday, although not as much.

EMO says residents living near the River and its tributaries should avoid any roads covered by water and be on alert.
