A new survey shows Saint John-area residents are split about amalgamation. Corporate Research Associates says 42% of respondents completely or mostly support merging Saint John, Rothesay, Quispamsis and Grand Bay-Westfield. 43% oppose, and Saint John was the only municipality to have a majority of support.

Atlantic PATH holding public info session in Moncton today
The Atlantic Partnership for Tomorrow’s Health, or Atlantic PATH, held one of five region-wide public info sessions in Saint John yesterday. Another is being held in Moncton today. It’s part of a countrywide effort to see how genetics, environment, lifestyle and behaviour contribute to developing cancer and other diseases. The lives of 300,000 Canadians, including 35,000 Atlantic Canadians, are being looked at to explore better prevention and treatment.
