Former premier Bernard Lord thinks more private medicine would ease stress on our healthcare system. The current Medavie CEO was before a Senate committee yesterday in Ottawa, and spoke of how the government can fund the system but not be the single provider. Private or non-profit business would step in, but under the eye of government.

Wild blueberry sector identified by province as growth opportunity
The province has identified developing the wild blueberry sector as a significant economic growth opportunity. Production has more than tripled over the past decade. More than 300 farm families are involved and New Brunswick accounts for 25% of Canada’s overall production. The industry currently supports an estimated 440 jobs.
