Motorcycle fatality

A 36 year old Moncton man has been killed in a motorcycle crash near Salisbury.

RCMP say the driver lost control of the bike on a curve on Route 106 in Boundary Creek Wednesday night. The man was the only person on the motorcycle and died at the scene. The Mounties continue to investigate and believe speed may have been a factor.

Area residents told the Times and Transcript that stretch of road has seen a lot of accidents and several fatalities.

Welsford fire

Fire crews were called out to battle a forest fire in Welsford yesterday not long after the province upgraded the wildfire hazard level and banned all burning.

The Welsford Fire Department brought the blaze under control quickly before it covered too much ground. Nobody was hurt.
