Testimony continued at the RCMP trial about the training of officers with testimony from an American expert.

Defence witness Pete Blair, a professor of criminal justice at Texas State University, testified the training the RCMP provides is comparable to police training offered in the U-S…and better in some aspects. Blair, who is also the executive director of an organization that aims to provide the best research-based active shooter response training, also said it’s impossible to predict and train for every situation

Canada ranks poorly in child welfare

A Unicef reports ranks Canada very poorly on a list of child welfare in wealthy countries.

The new report from the U-N agency says 22% of Canadian children live in poverty…and things haven’t improved much or even gotten worse over the last decade. Canada ranked 37th out of 41 wealthy countries when it came to access to enough nutritious food. We also have higher than average rates of child homicides and teen suicides.
