NB fire

Mop up efforts will continue today on a small forest fire north of Memramcook.

It broke out yesterday afternoon and quickly covered about an acre of woods. Crews were fighting the flames along with three provincial water bombers and two from J.D. Irving. No homes or other property were endangered. It’s too soon to say how it started.

BC fires

A group of New Brunswick firefighters that left July 10th to help fight the wildfires in B-C have returned home. A second group of firefighters sent to B-C last week remains there.

Meanwhile, there are more evacuations in BC.

A rapidly-moving wildfire forced residents out of dozens of properties east of Kamloops and others were put on alert that they may have to flee  at a moment’s notice as well.  That fire is about 60 hectares in size and threatening multiple structures.
