Ottawa is putting a million dollars into the Offshore Energy Research Association to address knowledge gaps in tidal power.

Federal Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr says few countries have the advantages we do when it comes to tidal power with the longest coastline of any nation on three oceans. But Carr says for all of our expertise, there are still gaps in our knowledge and unanswered questions…including environmental effects.
