Shooting video should be released

Video of a deadly shooting by police in Rothesay over three years ago should be released, according to the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

CBC has been trying for 15 months to get the video from a body camera that shows the shooting of William David McCaffrey in his family’s home in February of 2014.  Information and Privacy Commissioner Anne Bertrand has determined public interest trumps privacy in this case…that people should see exactly what happened.

CBC says the Kennebecasis Regional Police Serice isn’t required to follow her ruling and will be getting legal advise.

Cloudy water

You may notice cloudy water coming from your taps in parts of Saint John. The city is flushing fire hydrants which could turn tap water cloudy for up to 20 minutes if a hydrant nearby is being flushed. Water pressure may drop but at no time will you lose all the water….and it is safe to drink…it’ll just be a little cloudy.
