Millions for airport renovations

The Saint John Airport will be investing almost $34 million over the next decade on new capital projects.

Airport CEO Derrick Stanford said the costs would be paid for by both the airport and its tenants. According to the Telegraph-Journal, the airport will provide $30 million and the tenants $3.7 million.

The work will include replacing water systems, new equipment, enhancing some buildings and refurbishing the runways.

Fatality in St. Stephen

An elderly woman was killed in a car-pedestrian accident in St. Stephen.

RCMP say the 88 year old woman was hit while crossing Milltown Boulevard late Sunday afternoon. She was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, however alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors.
